Cage Free Tracker

About the Tracker
Sinergia Animal's Cage-free Tracker aims to give visibility and recognition to the progress companies are making towards ending the use of cages for egg-laying hens throughout their egg supply chains in Latin American countries.
Since 2017, we’ve worked with many leading food companies in Latin America on public commitments to improve animal welfare in their supply chains by gradually phasing out the use of cages.
All of the companies mentioned on this website and in the reports have announced commitments to sourcing only cage-free eggs by 2025 or sooner. The only exception to this deadline is supermarket chains; as due to the larger size and complexity of their supply chains, supermarkets have been granted a deadline of 2028 or sooner.
This tracking program is intended to celebrate all public commitments, and document progress to all relevant stakeholders by publishing yearly results. We strongly feel this initiative is needed to ensure a transparent and sustainable transition towards a future where hens will no longer endure sad and stressful lives in battery cages.
We hope that by compiling and illustrating the progress companies are making towards their cage-free commitments, we can inspire other companies to join this movement and motivate producers to invest in higher animal welfare systems to meet market demand.
The data presented was compiled based on information shared by the companies in 2019.
